In Trapped by Michael Northrop, the story is written in Scotty’s point of view. Scotty is one of seven kids stuck at their high school because of a snow storm. From this perspective, a lot of events and characters are described in a way that creates sympathy in the reader because he is stuck at school without being able to see his parents.

One way that Scotty’s point of view influences the reader’s interpretation is how this perspective shows being stuck at school because of a snow storm.  I feel bad for Scotty because he is stuck at school with his friends without being able to see his parents. 

However, the I  would feel different about being stuck at school if the book was written by Mr. Jones’ point of view.  For example I would feel calm and relaxed because he is an adult and has the situation under control. 

As you can see in Trapped the narrator’s perspective would make the reader worried and sad by describing how the students are stuck at school because of a storm.  They just want to go home with their parents. 

It is important to understand the narrator’s point of view because it would be told differently from another person’s point of view

Authors note:  I wrote this to demonstrate my understanding of theme.

I’m doing my theme about a book called dolphin song.  It is about two girls walking along a beach in Florida and up ahead of them they see something lying on the shore and they don’t know what it is so they go up ahead of it to find out what it is and they realize that it’s a dolphin so they call the animal police and they come. The people take the dolphin to the hospital.  And they to figure out what’s wrong with it.  So they find an arrow in the dolphin heart so they try to get it out but they can’t get the arrow out.  But they have to say that the dolphin is dead that they can’t get the arrow out wit out killing the dolphin. 

For theme I picked choices and decisions because I think that they girls realized that we have to take care of plants and animals. Also because the girls could have left the dolphin there and not even care if it lived died or what is wrong with it and just could have kept on walking like any other person probably would do.

Also the girls felt really good about there selves because they tried to save a life but they just couldn’t they basically felt sad and happy about what they have done and what has happened. I think that there could have been another theme that is coping with loss or death because they are the ones who found the dolphin and they tried to save its life but they couldn’t so now they kind of have to deal with it being dead.  But its not like having a mom or a dad die.

Over the weekend a 14 or 15 year old boy was running around town at about 11:00 at night.  The boy’s name is Roger.  He is small, frail, willow- wild and was last seen wearing tennis shoes and blue jeans he presented a dirty appearance. Roger was attempting to steal Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones packet book.  We spoke with Mrs. Jones she said this “I was just trying to walk home and eat my dinner. A boy came up to me and tried to steal my pocket book.  I was very upset I asked him why he tried to take it from me and he said that he just wanted a pair of blue suede shoes.  I just said he could have asked me for money to get them. ” the boy was mean and disrespectful but Mrs. Jones still took Roger home even though         Roger was mean.  He washed his face had dinner while dinner was cooking he was trying to change his appearance to Mrs. Jones by asking her if he could go get some milk for dinner and her purse was laying right on the couch and he didn’t even try to steal it and run again and left after words “he was a little scared of me and thought that I was going to hurt him and get him in trouble with the police.” We nicely ask you to contact us at (555)-019-1536 if you see Roger or have any information regarding the case.

When I Broke My Arm

One day I was at school in 6^th grade and it was after lunch at recess and I was on a hill with my friends and I did a cartwheel and I fell and twisted my wrist because I fell on my left hand. My friends walked me to the nurses office and went back to class and I was sitting in the nurses office and she called my mom so she could come and take me to the hospital.

When I got to the hospital I went to go get and X- ray and they seen a fracture in my arm do they didn’t give me a cast but they gave me a brace and a sling only because it was a hair line fracture.

The next day I went to school and everybody wanted to sign my sling they also felt bad for me. Then I couldn’t write because I broke my left hand and that is the hand I write with.L so my friend Sammy and brooke had to write everything for me.   It was exceedingly hard for my to do anything because I had this vast thing on my arm. Also the next couple days I couldn’t do anything by myself I always had to have somebody with me just in case and it was so infuriating.

When I had my brace on I could not do gymnastics and it made me sad because I enormously love gymnastics and im so good at them. All of my friends would do gymnastics in front of me and I felt envious and left out like I wasn’t even there anymore and I just wanted to slash my brace off and do gymnastics with them.

I got my brace off after 3 weeks and if felt do good but it still hurt a little bit but I got threw It and then my mom told me that  I couldn’t do gymnastics for 1 MONTH and I was like what but that month flew by like nothing and I was back doing gymnastics. J

this piece is about the conflict/resoultion in the story Saving Zahsa. I wrote this to demonstrate my understanding of conflict/resoultion

I read the book saving zasha and the conflict was that there is a war going on in Germany and there is a law that you can’t have German Sheppard’s. The war is going on and they find the German Sheppard named zasha and they take it and kill the dogL. After they kill the dog they act like nothing ever happened and and move on with the war.

Cause/Effect

This piece is about the cause/effect in the story Saving Zasha.  In the story I wrote this to demonstrate my understanding of cause/effect. 

In the book Saving Zasha, the main event is that in Germany you’re not supposed to have a German shepherd and a family is hiding a German shepherd in their house.  This law was made because the government didn’t want German   shepherds in Germany during the war. The family is keeping the dog because they had Zash even before the war and they want to keep her.  This event is person VS society.

Because they chose to keep the dog, Zasha got taken by the government and they killed her.  The family that had Zahsa went to jail.  If this event had been different and if there was no war zasha wouldn’t have been killed and the family wouldn’t have gone to jail.
